Father and son fatally injured in Louisiana head-on car accident

| Dec 31, 2015 | Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents

There is seldom a sadder news story than the sudden death of a family member or friend for residents in Louisiana and elsewhere. Unfortunately, this was the case for a former Cenla family that were victims in a fatal crash earlier this month. Fatal accidents can happen at any time and catch otherwise safe drivers completely off guard. After the shock of such an accident the family will need all the love and support possible to get back on their feet.

The details of the crash show evidence of liability and possibly drunk driving on behalf of the driver in the other vehicle involved. According to reports, the family was traveling northbound in a Kia Spectra on I-49 when a Toyota Corolla driving southbound in the northbound lane struck the Kia head-on.

The fatal accident claimed the lives of the father and son at the scene and sent the wife to the hospital with serious injuries. Caddo Sheriff’s Luitentent said that they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash because an open container was found in the Toyota Corolla.

The unimaginable loss the Louisiana family must feel is almost inconceivable. The mother in the hospital also has daughters, and the remaining family must put together the pieces after such a life-changing accident. The family members will certainly be missed and the man who may be responsible could be held accountable in both criminal and civil court. A wrongful death suit may be sought due to the loss suffered due to medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost wages that would have otherwise supported the family.

Although it may seem like a lot to oversee after such a life-changing event, a civil suit could mean the difference in the family’s financial future. This is true for any family affected by a fatal car accident. The money will not change the tragic events that caused the accident. However, it can make a huge difference in what the future looks like for the Louisiana family who has suffered such immeasurable loss.
