When drug abuse leads to motor vehicle accidents

Driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated: these phrases often heard in Louisiana are typically tied to drunk drivers. However, not all impaired driving cases have to do with alcohol. Sadly, many have to do with drug abuse. Drug abuse and driving do not go well together, and this combination commonly leads to motor vehicle accidents. Were you injured, or did you lose a loved one in a collision with a drugged-up driver?

Truck accidents sometimes result from poor driver training

Operating a large commercial vehicle is not as easy as one would think. The drivers of these automobiles must go through very specific training in order to obtain their commercial driver's licenses. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has set requirements that these drivers -- whether they reside in Louisiana or elsewhere -- must meet before they hit the road. Why? Without proper training, truck accidents are more likely to happen.

Louisiana wrongful death: Child hit and killed by automobile

Police in Lake Charles were called to investigate an auto-pedestrian accident that, sadly, resulted in the death of a young child. This tragic event occurred Sept. 3, around 7 p.m., on L'Acadie Drive. If driver negligence is believed to have contributed to this incident, the child's surviving family members may be entitled to pursue compensation for their losses by filing a wrongful death claim in a Louisiana civil court.
