Motor vehicle accidents: 2 hurt in Lake Charles crash

In early May police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle car crash. Two people were hurt in the wreck, one of them reportedly suffered critical injuries. According to reports, on May 5, the driver of a sedan failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of W. McNeese Street and Nelson Road and, as a result, struck an SUV. The driver of the SUV was also hurt and taken to a medical facility for care. The current conditions of both victims are unknown.

The driver responsible for this wreck walked away from the crash uninjured. He was cited for driving on a suspended license and failure to obey a traffic control device. The investigation into this incident is still ongoing. Authorities have not indicated if drugs and/or alcohol played a role in this event as toxicology results are pending.
