Family of man killed in crash may file wrongful death claim

The driver responsible forr a fatal crash back in June has been arrested and charged. One person died as a result of this man’s actions and another passenger suffered moderate injuries. The family members of the deceased victim may be entitled to pursue compensation by filing a wrongful death claim in a Louisiana civil court. According to reports, at approximately 9 p.m., on June 10, a man was driving his pickup truck on Interstate 10. He was allegedly speeding and impaired, which contributed to him losing control of his car. The truck went off the road and rolled several times beforre coming to a stop. One of the passengers in the vehicle — a 59-year-old male — was ejected and died at the scene for the crash. The driver and one other passenger suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital forr treatment.

Tests reportedly showed that the driver’s blood-alcohol content was over the legal limit. He has since been charged with DUI, speeding, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, obstruction of justice and vehicular negligent injuring. It is unclear when this individual’s case will go to trial.
