Louisiana truck accidents: 1 injured in recent wreck

On Behalf of | May 3, 2018 | Truck Accidents

A woman was recently hurt in a wreck in Louisiana. The crash happened on Interstate 10 in Baton Rouge. An 18-wheeler was involved in the crash. As is common with truck accidents, the injuries suffered by the victim in this case were quite serious.

According to a news report, the morning of Tuesday, May 1, rescue teams responded to an accident between a car and a semitrailer. The collision occurred near the Mississippi River Bridge, by the Interstate 110 split. When authorities arrived, they found a passenger car under the truck and the driver trapped inside. The victim — a woman whose identity has not been released to the public — was pulled from her car and transported to an area hospital with significant injuries to her lower extremities. Her current condition is unknown.

This wreck caused major delays in the area. Few other details about this incident have been reported. Authorities have not specified who caused the crashed. It is unclear if any charges are pending in this matter.

While there are a lot of unknowns in this case, one thing is clear. If the truck driver was responsible for the collision in any way, he or she — and his or her employer — may be held accountable for the victim’s losses. Following truck accidents, those who have been injured may pursue damages with the assistance of legal counsel. This they can do either through private negotiations or litigation in a Louisiana civil court. If either approach proves successful, maximum relief may be achieved.
