Police in Louisiana are looking for the semitrailer driver who caused an accident that left a woman injured. This incident occurred in mid-December in the Shreveport area. According to state laws, those responsible for truck accidents may be responsible for the losses suffered by the victims.
While traveling on LA Highway 3132, an 18-wheeler struck a car, causing it to roll over. The woman behind the wheel of the car became trapped inside. Thankfully, a witness to the event stopped and remained with her until help arrived. The extent of her injuries is unknown, but she is expected to recover.
The driver of the semi failed to stop. Sometimes, due to the size of these big rigs, their drivers may not be aware that they hit other vehicles, as they take little to no damage. On the flip side, the driver may have been scared and wanted to flee the scene. In either case, when found, the driver could face hit-and-run charges for causing this incident. Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to please call.
Truck accidents are frightening to watch and experience. The victim is lucky to be alive. There is no saying, though, how this incident will affect her for the rest of her life. When the responsible party is located, the victim may pursue civil actions against him or her and his or her employer. In doing so, if litigation proves successful, she may achieve full and fair compensation for any and all losses deemed recoverable, according to Louisiana laws.
