Louisiana motor vehicle accidents: 1 critically injured in crash

| Nov 2, 2017 | motor vehicle accidents

Louisiana has seen its fair share of wrong-way drivers over the years. Sadly, these individuals cause motor vehicle accidents that often have tragic outcomes. This is certainly the case for a recent collision that occurred in the area of St. Charles Parish.

According to reports, on Sunday, Oct. 29, a 45-year-old woman was operating her vehicle eastbound in the Louisiana 3127 westbound lanes when she collided head-on with another car. The victim, a 25-year-old female, is said to have suffered critical injuries in the wreck. She was transported to an area hospital for care. Her prognosis is unknown.

The driver who caused the crash was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from her vehicle. Sadly, she died at the scene. Investigators are still trying to determine if drugs, alcohol or both contributed to the collision.

When the drivers deemed responsible for motor vehicle accidents fail to survive, victims may be left feeling that they have nowhere to turn as far as seeking compensation for their losses. This is not the case, however. In Louisiana and elsewhere, it is possible to file civil claims against the estate of the responsible party in an effort to seek relief. It is also possible to pursue claims against insurance providers who fail to offer fair and full compensation for any losses endured. With the assistance of an experienced personal injury attorney, those injured in auto accidents may take the actions necessary to seek maximum compensation for any and all economic and non-economic damages sustained.
