There are many traffic regulations that drivers must follow while driving. It’s probably safe to say that many of these rules and regulations are broken by most drivers at some point in time. Some may not seem that important to the driver or it may be a situation where the person is in a hurry to get to their destination. One of the most common rules that is broken is speeding.
Many people drive faster than the speed limit almost daily. They may feel that they can still control their vehicle at the higher speeds, but there are reasons for speed limits and speed contributes to many car accidents.

In Louisiana there were a total of 726 traffic fatalities and 165 were contributed to speeding, which is slightly less than the national average at 23%.
While these statistics are for the fatal car accidents, speed also contributes to many more accidents causing injuries to the people involved. These injuries can be very devastating to the victims and completely change their lives. They can also be costly. The victims of these accidents may be entitled to compensation for these injuries though, which can be extremely valuable for the victim as they recover.
